I was close to writing about my vExpert application and possibly being accepted for such a great award. Before filling out the application I was sure I’d be selected but as I entered information I thought I had a 60-70% chance of being selected. I never looked at the criteria before applying this year. As time went on a swayed back and forth between thinking I would be selected and not. It was agonizing over the weekend.
When the list came out today and I was on it I felt proud, honored, and humbled all at the same time. I know I didn’t do anything more just to get on the list, which makes it that much more rewarding. To get recognized for what you do in your community makes me realize that not only do I thoroughly enjoy what I’m doing but others also value what I’m doing.
I can honestly saw the only thing I might want to do more than work with this community is be a host on Mythbusters.
Congratulations to all who made the list this year and thank you to those who’ve been a part of this awesome community over the years. I’ve learned so much from you and look forward to working with the community for many years to come.
